Meet The Team
Born and brought up in Switzerland, Mattias Zbären has strong ties to the Engadin Valley, where his family has its roots. With an original career as an FX Trader at renowned financial institutions including UBS, CityCorp, and Credit Suisse, he transitioned into key roles in Project Management and Compliance within the financial sector.
Currently, Matt remains deeply involved in both the finance and real estate sectors, as well as other opportunities in the alpine regions of Switzerland and Europe. He plays an integral role in overseeing the Swiss operations of AFCAP AG, contributing his extensive expertise and experience.
Alykhan brings over 25 years of finance and real estate expertise, starting in a Toronto family office and later at Merrill Lynch in London. In 2004, he co-founded Intouch Group, executing over USD 140 million in real estate transactions by 2008.
He graduated from the YPO London Business School Grow Your Business program and subsequently served as the YPO Champion for the London Business School YPO Next Generation program.
Currently, he is in the 5th year of a 9-year YPO Harvard Presidents Program.
Beyond his professional commitments, he draws inspiration from mountain activities such as skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.
Born in Cape Town, Chregan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering. A serial entrepreneur at heart, Chregan is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Propr, a leading aparthotel and short-term rental operator.
Founded in 2015, Propr completed a capital raise from one of South Africa’s largest private equity groups in 2019 to accelerate its growth and international expansion. Under his leadership, Propr now operates over 1,000 rooms across three countries and five cities, supported by a dedicated team of over 200 people.
Passionate about innovation, Chregan has pioneered the integration of cutting-edge AI and technology to automate and streamline Propr's operations. His vast experience in the hospitality sector and entrepreneurial acumen now benefits AFCAP as their Non-Executive Director and Advisor to the Board for Hospitality Acquisitions and Operations.
James Masacorale, at the helm of the investment office for Dubai’s renowned Al Tayer family, brings 30+ years of global expertise in investments, M&A, and portfolio management. He has cultivated a thriving family investment ecosystem, extending advisory to Al Tayer Group’s ventures.
His distinguished career spans senior roles in UK and US public companies, reflecting his cultural acumen. A Cranfield University MBA and University of Essex Economics graduate, he finds balance through martial arts and music.
Colin started his career with Lend Lease where he worked on various master development schemes across Western Europe including Siemens ‘Isar Sud’ project in Munich. In 2004, he moved to the UAE and worked with Majid Al Futtaim Investments (MAF) where he completed and developed Ski Dubai as an integral member of the Mall of the Emirates development team.
In 2006, Colin joined Kenmore Property Group to head their Middle East business and completed a number of major residential and commercial property transactions in Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, including the setup and management of various regulated property funds in the region. Colin has spearheaded and launched property funds in the Gulf and East Africa as well as incorporating Emirates REIT, the Middle East’s’ first official Shari’ah compliant REIT, domiciled in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and regulated under the DFSA.
From 2011 Colin was the CIO for Select Group in Dubai where he masterminded and delivered a 5 year business plan to acquire, develop and invest in the UK and European real estate sector taking advantage of the post 2008 financial crisis where he acquired ‘special situations’ 4 and 5 star hotels, residential and mixed use assets out of the ‘bad banks,’ governments and administrators. Colin is the CEO for the Macintyre Group based between Dubai and the UK . Colin holds an MBA, has studied at Harvard Business School and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
